Kamala Harris is the Vice President of the United States. She was nominated as Democratic Party candidate to serve with Joe Biden, elected in the 2020 US elections. Her oath of office was administered by Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

She is a former United States senator from California. Kamala's descent is Jamaican and Indian. Kamala's father was born in Jamaica. Kamala's mother was born in India. She is America's first woman vice president and black American to serve in that office.
