Jean-Baptiste Poquelin (1622 - 1673), known by his stage name Molière, was a French playwright, actor, and stage manager. His plays include comedies, tragicomedies, and other genres.

Among his best-known plays: Tartuffe, The School for Wives, Dom Juan, The Misanthrope, The Imaginary Invalid, and The Miser.
