Muḥammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī
al-Khwarizmi
al-Khwarizmi was an Islamic mathematician and astronomer.
He lived from about 780 to about 850 in Baghdad.
He wrote books about the math discoveries of earlier mathematicians.
The word algebra comes from his book title Kitab al-jabr wa al-muqabalah.
