Ghouls of the Miskatonic/Chapter 8
Plot
The Commercial, a vibrant Arkham nightclub, is teeming with patrons smoking, drinking, and dancing to jazz music. Amanda and Rita arrive, accompanied by Spencer and Wilson. After receiving drinks, the girls leave the men as they only used them to gain entry to the club. The atmosphere shifts when singer Marie Lambeau takes the stage with her jazz band, delivering a performance so captivating that it puts the entire club into a trance of dancing. Amanda is deeply moved by the performance, hugging Rita tightly afterward, both agreeing it was magical. Amanda sees Marie looking directly at her from the stage and hears her whisper that darkness is all around Amanda, and that there is nothing anyone can do.
At the university, Finn is desperately searching for someone to help him understand the silver sphere. He spots Oliver, who has been consumed by the book Alexander Templeton gave him. It was written by Laban Shrewsbury, a renowned Miskatonic University scholar and professor who mysteriously disappeared over a decade ago. Shrewsbury claims that a massive creature named Cthulhu, an entity from beyond time and space, is entombed beneath the oceans and worshipped by cults worldwide. The book concludes with a dire warning: should Cthulhu awaken, it would signify the end of the world. Shrewsbury's disappearance was attributed to either fleeing from cultist pursuit out of fear for his life, or being killed by them
Finn approaches Oliver, asking for help with the sphere. After some persuasion, Oliver tells Finn that he cannot personally help him, but he knows someone who can.
