Pierre Poilievre

Pierre Marcel Poilievre PC MP (/ˌpɔːliˈɛv/ PAW-lee-EV; born June 3, 1979) is a Canadian politician who has been the leader of the Conservative Party and of the Official Opposition since 2022. Described as populist, Poilievre has primarily focused on issues pertaining to the cost of living in Canada, but also opposed anti-COVID measures and supported the convoy protest. Since mid-2023, the Conservative Party held a lead in opinion polling for the 2025 federal election; however, the Conservatives lost that election, and Poilievre lost his own seat.

Quotes

And it's time to starting worry about the feeding and care of the hard working people who are carrying the government on their backs.
