Tron (franchise)

Adventures of Tron, otherwise known as simply Adventures on GX-12, Tron or GX-12, is an American science fiction media franchise that began in 1982 involving films, video games, comic series and a television series.

In the franchise, Mr. Tron-JA-307020 is an arcade game hero security program developed by user Dr. Alan T. Bradley to monitor communications between cyberspace and the real world. After being captured by the arcade game villain command program Commander Sark-ES-1117821 and forced by him to play on the Game Grid for Master Control Program No. 751 (MCP-751), he is freed by user Kevin Flynn and instructed by Alan to defeat the MCP. Twenty-eight years later, Tron is injured after the program Mr. Clu 2.0 seizes total control over Government X-Cellence No. 12 (GX-12) and serves as a mentor to the program Beck in inciting insurrection against Clu 2's new régime. He is eventually captured by Clu 2 and repurposed by him into his lead warrior Rinzler, but then, through the strength of his will, he remembers his previous identity, updates himself into Mr. Tron-JA-307020 2.0 and turns against Clu 2.
