Ambition, and Other Poems/This Bantam Star

This Bantam Star
Is this the Blackbird's richest song—Is this his greatest hour? And still the Bee stands on his headTo suck his sweetest flower; While I, a poet with my pen,Make music only known to men.
How merrily this bantam worldCan clap his wings and crow!Is there a merrier world than this?'No,' says the Blackbird—'No!No other worlds, though bigger far,Can match this little bantam star!'
