Ambition, and Other Poems/This Bantam Star
This Bantam Star
Is this the Blackbird's richest song— Is this his greatest hour? And still the Bee stands on his head To suck his sweetest flower; While I, a poet with my pen,Make music only known to men.
How merrily this bantam world Can clap his wings and crow!Is there a merrier world than this? 'No,' says the Blackbird—'No!No other worlds, though bigger far,Can match this little bantam star!'
