Finally, a stranger or friend appears, who enlivens the lonely hours, and the end is soon met there is no need of following the downward course; apparent friendliness takes possession of real loneliness. Weak and wrong in the woman? Yes. But, again, this evil of loneliness is one that society and that other women are bound to correct.
