NEVER SAY FAIL!
Watch and fight bravelyAgainst sloth and sin;Pray for the spirit,The victory to win.Cometh the FutureVeilèd and slow?Go forth to meet her,For weal or for woe.Bringeth she gladness?Praise thou the Lord.Bringeth she sadness?Bow to His word.O'er Past and o'er FutureDim shadows recline,Heart, be thou manful,The Present is thine!
Never Say Fail!
Keep pushing—'tis wiserThan sitting aside,And dreaming and sighingAnd waiting the tide.In fife's earnest battleThey only prevailWho daily march onwardAnd never say fail!
With an eye ever open,A tongue that's not dumb,And a heart that will neverTo sorrow succumb—You'll battle and conquerThough thousands assail; How strong and how mighty!Who never say fail!
The spirit of angelsIs active, I know,As higher and higherIn glory they go;Methinks on bright pinionsFrom Heaven they sail,To cheer and encourageWho never say fail!
