  Because the simple-additive and improved models for computing PFuser yield essentially the same results, one can consider the derivation given in this evaluation as primarily an interesting academic exercise rather than an essential step for analysis of filter-leakage data. However, because of its improved accuracy, additional sophistication, and technical considerations, NIOSH elected to use the improved model reflected in equation (16) as the basis for the Institute's analysis of filter-leakage data.
