Their heads with garlands were bedecked Of red incarnate rose,With violas of brawest hues, And flowers of brawest chose.
And as a noble gentle heart Great glory does obtain,So did this joyful company With joy each footstep trane.

She had that time upon her back A glorious gown of white,And in her hand that chrystal targe That wrought Medusa spite.
And in the same a pillar was Erect of jasper stone,Wherein a chain of diamonds Were placed one by one;And topases mixed in the midst, Which virtuous dames did use———
