V. Item, We article and object to you, the said Dr. Richard Bentley, that you have, ever since such your admission to the mastership, lived and acted in open violation of many of the said rules and constitutions or statutes, so made and provided for the good government of the said college, and in breach of the oath so as aforesaid by you taken. Et objicimus & articulamur ut supra.

VI. Item, We article and object to you, the said Dr. Richard Bentley, that by the second chapter of the said statutes it is (inter alia) ordained and provided, that the Master of the said college, for the time being, shall be a person no less eminent above other members of the said college for his piety and integrity of life, than he is superior to them by the dignity of his place. Notwithstanding which, you the said Dr. Bentley have, for more than twenty years past, in violation of the said statute, and in breach of your said oath, lived a very irreligious life, and notoriously neglected the public worship of God; and more particularly, by constantly and habitually absenting yourself from divine service in the chapel of the said college, at the usual hours of morning and evening prayers, and suffered or permitted the officers of the said college in the like manner to neglect the same. Et objicimus & articulamur de quolibet alio temporis spatio, etc. Et ut supra.

VII.
