Thick set with stars, a mingled glory sheds,And o'er the pure translucent azure spreads;Amaz'd we view, from the etherial height,A thousand orbs pour forth their sacred light;Blended their lustre seems, while all aroundSuccessive sparkles gild the milky bound;The dazzled eye, in countless beauty lost,Vainly essays to mark which shines the most;From each the same quick living splendors fly,And undistinguish'd brightness charms the eye.
