Hecuba.
The earthquake thereof shall engulf the town!—
O sorrow's crown!
O tottering, tottering limbs, upbear
My steps; to the life of bondage fare. 1330

O hapless Troy!—Yet down to the strand
And the galleys Achaian thy feet must strain.
Hecuba.
O land—of my children the nursing-land!
Chorus.
Woe!—wail the refrain!
