the Bank of England certain privileges for a limited period," to increase the amount of securities in the Issue Department of the Bank of England, and to extend the issue of their own bank notes to an amount not exceeding the above-mentioned difference between the increase of issues by the Bank of England that has been already authorised and two-thirds of the aggregate issues by the banks that have lapsed subsequently to the sixth day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty-four.

Now, therefore, it is this day ordered by Her Majesty, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, that the said Governor and Company shall be and they are hereby authorised and empowered to increase the amount of securities in the Issue Department of the Bank of England to the extent of 250,000l. beyond the total sum or value of 14,000,000l. in the said Act mentioned, and of the further sums of 475,000l., 175,000l., 350,000l., 750,000l., and 450, 000l. authorised by Her Majesty's Orders in Council dated the seventh day of December one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, the twenty-sixth day of June one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one, the third day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, the first day of April one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, and the fifteenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven,[1] and thereupon to issue additional Bank of England notes from the said Issue Department, in manner in the said Act mentioned, to the amount 250,000l.

1. General Rules

GENERAL RULES DATED JANUARY 30, 1890, MADE BY THE LORD CHANCELLOR WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE PURSUANT TO SECTION 127 OF THE BANKRUPTCY ACT, 1883.[2]

Rule 323 of the Bankruptcy Rules 1886 is hereby annulled, and instead thereof the following rule, which may be cited as Rule 323A, shall have effect:—
