Pansies (Lawrence)/Courage

COURAGE
What makes people unsatisfiedis that they accept lies.
If people had courage, and refused liesand found out what they really felt and really meantand acted on it,
they would distil the essential oil out of every experienceand like hazel-nuts in autumn, at lastbe sweet and sound.
And the young among the oldwould be as in the hazel-woods of Septembernutting, gathering nuts of ripe experience.
As it is, all that the old can offeris sour, bitter fruits, cankered by lies.
