RETROSPECTION.
Hush, sad thoughts, be still to-night!You and I need rest and light.Ask not what shall help us seeThrough life's maze and mystery.
O, I miss the dear, kind faces,And the old familiar places; Each and all in pictures set,Surely, I can ne'er forget.
Other friends I may not findLike the old, so true and kind!Seeking sympathy and love,What of merit can I prove?
Can the sun or summer rainBring dead flowers to life again? In my "home, sweet home" I live,Asking not what few will give.
