REUNITED.
The one was taken, the other left,They who were long since wed;And it seemed so hard to leave herAlone in her cold, cold bed;With no loving heart beside herThere with the silent dead.
He tarried awhile till the MasterCalled from the other shore,Bidding the boatman carryThe white-haired pilgrim o'er,Where ever patiently waitedThe one who had gone before.
And O! how glad was the meetingOf these loved ones over there,When the fetters of earth-life meltedAway in the glory rare,Which, softly falling around them,Transfigured the aged pair!
