Who has hauled down the flag?
IS it the men who still uphold The principles for which it stood;Who claim that ever as of old Freedom is universal good?

Or is it those who spurn the way That Washington and Lincoln trod;Who seek to make the world obey, And long to wield the master's rod?
Who boast of freedom, but prepare Shackles and chains for distant shores,Who make the flag the emblem there Of all that Liberty abhors?
These have hauled down the flag!
