The Gods Remember (draft)

Lost wonders of the agesLie smoldered into embers—  The naked breasts of IsisBaal-pteor still remembers.
When Time has left his turretThese memories shall last—  Astarte’s dimpled shouldersThe ivory thighs of Bast.
Tyre’s towers lie in ruins,And Babel’s shrines are rotten—  Where are the kings that worshipped? The Ruler has forgotten.
He dreams of strange eyed mermaidsHe kissed by nameless seas—  The times he lay in pleasureBetween Mylitta’s knees.)
