Nguroje

Nguroje is a picturesque town located on the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba State, Nigeria. It is part of the Sardauna Local Government Area and sits at an altitude of about 1,828 meters, making it one of the highest settlements in Nigeria.

Nguroje derives its name from the Fulfulde word meaning "Abandoned Settlement." The town is known for its cool climate, green rolling hills, and vibrant local culture. It is an agricultural hub and home to the largest cattle market on the Mambilla Plateau.

The most common way to reach Nguroje is by road from Jalingo (the state capital) or Gembu, the LGA headquarters. Roads are steep and winding, especially as you ascend the plateau, so travel during daylight is recommended.
