Etymology
From жы́ць (žýcʹ) + -ся (-sja), from Old Ruthenian жити (žiti)[1] and сѧ (sja).[2]. Cognate with Russian жи́ться (žítʹsja), Ukrainian жи́тися (žýtysja).
