Etymology
From ли̏став (“related to leaves or flakes”, adjective) + -ац. With the same thought also German Blättermagen from Blätter (“leaves”) + Magen (“maw”), French feuillet or other languages where the omasum is called “book”, “bible”, “psalterium”, see the translations for omasum.
