خویدوده

Persian

Etymology

Learned borrowing from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (hwytw(k)ds /xwēdōdah/), from Avestan 𐬓𐬀𐬉𐬙𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬛𐬀𐬚𐬀 (xᵛaētuuadaθa).[1] Earlier Persian Rivayats do not use this spelling, but rather a variety of forms such as خیتُودَث (xētūdas), خْویدْیُودَث (xwēdyūdas), خْویتُودَث (xwētūdas), etc.[2]
