Inherited from Prakrit 𑀧𑀓𑁆𑀓 (pakka), from Sanskrit पक्व (pakva). Cognate with Gujarati પાકું (pākũ), Nepali पक्का (pakkā), Punjabi ਪੱਕਾ (pakkā) / پَکّا (pakkā).
