Etymology
Possibly from the elision of ᨸᩣ᩠ᨠ + ᨲᩪ, the latter is from Proto-Tai *tuːᴬ (“door”). Cognate with Thai ประตู (bprà-dtuu), Southern Thai ตู, Lao ປະຕູ (pa tū), Shan တူ (tǔu), Bouyei dul, Zhuang dou or du.
