From Proto-Iranian *Hhucráwāh, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hsućráwās, from *Hsu- (“good”) + *ćráwas (“fame”). Equivalent to 𐬵𐬎- (hu-, “good”) + 𐬯𐬭𐬀𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬵 (srauuah, “fame”). Cognate with Vedic Sanskrit सुश्रवस् (suśrávas, “famous”).
