*aiva- +‎ *-n (singular instructive), with a root that is borrowed from either Proto-Indo-Iranian *Haywa (so) (compare Sanskrit एव (eva, so, indeed)) or Proto-Germanic *aiwaz (long time), *aiwą (compare Gothic 𐌰𐌹𐍅 (aiw, ever)).
