Etymology
Continuing a Proto-Albanian *bur-na-, with a semantic change from "highly raised, elevated, exaulted" to "strong, sublime, great", from Proto-Indo-European *bʰer- (“to carry, bring, bear”), sharing origins with bie (“to bring, bear”), and related to the verb mburr (“to praise, extol, glorify”).[2] Possibly related to Thracian [script needed] (bur).[3]
