Part of the lexical group of cak and cekë, with the -më suffix. Related to cikmë (“dry cold”) and cegëm (“dry cold, bitter cold”), with the metaphonic chain a:e:i.[1]

Uncertain. Word present in the southern Tosk. Possible regional borrowing from Greek τσίχνα (tsíchna, “thin smoke”), itself without a clear origin and possibly borrowed, considering the words that start with ts are usually borrowed in Greek.[3][4]
