hvénær

Etymology

Likely an exact cognate to Dutch wanneer (when), with the first component related to Proto-Germanic *hwan (when). De Vries, however, prefers a derivation from hvé (how) +‎ nær (near), with sense development "how near" > "how early" > "when".[1]
