los jibbities
English
Etymology
Alteration of LGBT, where L is reinterpreted as the Spanish definite article el (plural los), and GBT as a noun, + -ies (plural suffix). Popularized by Puerto Rican TikTok influencer Dez the Lez in a short storytime video in 1 June 2021, the start of Pride Month. In the video, the creator explains how her Spanish-speaking mother created the term as a nonce word after forgetting the correct term in English.

- From my experience it's because sooooo many Republicans seem to think being LGBTQ as a whole is inherently sexual. It's too far to the right on the Overton window to go against all los jibbities so they go after the most vulnerable part of los jibbities- the trans community.

- I was 1000% straight until right around 35 and suddenly I was... bi? Idk what to call it, but my attraction to guys went WAY down (I still like skinny, kinda fem guys) and attraction to women went way up (especially masc), plus anything in between. It was a weird shift to go from being the token straight in the group to just another one of los jibbities.
