mineralizer (plural mineralizers)

  1. An element which is combined with a metal to form an ore.
    In galena, or lead ore, sulphur is a mineralizer; in hematite, oxygen is a mineralizer.
  2. A volatile or other substance, such as water, that facilitates the recrystallization of rocks.
