Word attested on Chamalières tablet.[1][2] From Proto-Celtic *kʷiseti with future & subjunctive suffix -siu and suffixed pronoun -mi, from Proto-Indo-European *kʷeys- (“to see, observe”). Cognate with Old Irish ad·cí.
