Noun

qword (plural qwords)

  1. (computing) A quadword: four words, typically used in the same contexts as the fossilized 16-bit sense of "word" and thus 64 bits.
    • 1991, William B. Giles, Assembly language programming for the Intel 80XXX family:
On line 7, "X" and "Y" are defined to be qwords. Therefore, each is eight bytes long — the size of a double in C.
