Etymology 1
Learned borrowing from Classical Syriac ܪܸܒܲܬ݂ (ribbaṯ, “greatly”) with the meaning slightly changed. First published in a 2018 dictionary by Odisho Malko Gewargis, as a substitute for the more common Persianism/Arabism ܡܘܼܡܟܸܢ (mumkin); compare similar in Arabic رُبَّمَا (rubbamā, “likely, perhaps, potentially”).
