特殊拍
[noun] (Japanese phonology) a type of mora, variously called in English (literal translation) special mora, (Kubozono Haruo) non-syllabic mora, non-head mora, (Laurence Labrune) deficient mora, unique in that it cannot form a (おん)(せつ) (onsetsu, syllable) on its own, that it never occurs at the beginning of a word, and that is incapable of acting as an アクセント(かく) (akusento-kaku, accent kernel); morae like these include the (そく)(おん) (sokuon, moraic obstruent), the (はつ)(おん) (hatsuon, moraic nasal), the second half of a (ちょう)(おん) (chōon, long vowel), and the second half of a ()(じゅう)()(いん) (nijū boin, diphthong)
