Unknown. Has been compared with Erzya вешемс (vešems), Udmurt утчаны (utćany) and Northern Sami ohcat (but at least the last one of these is rather cognate with *udëldak) on one hand and Proto-Germanic [Term?] (compare Old Norse inna) on the other; both of these suffer from issues.
