amhanc

Irish

Etymology

From amharc; the nasalization caused by intervocalic mh spread to the r, converting it to n, which assimilated to /ŋ/ before /k/.

Found in Mayo and Donegal, but not to the exclusion of the original form amharc, which is also found there.
