From merèntèt (streak) +‎ pengabisan (last). According to C. D. Grijns, so named after the fact that it comes up in a series of lengthy and difficult to pronounce Arabic month names with no popular shortforms (namely, those of the 5th and 6th months, sometimes also the 4th month).[1]

  • (Urban Jakarta) IPA(key): [mə.rɛnˈtɛt pə.ŋa.biˈsan]
