Etymology

From *lemos (soft) +‎ *mlixtus (milk). The first nasal in this compound was deleted as a dissimilation.[1]

James's reconstruction *lemo-laxto-[2] is wrong, because one would expect **llefraith in Welsh, not the actually existing llefrith.
